A long Day

It started at 6:30 this morning. It's not that I didn't plan to get up early, because I did, it's just that I didn't plan it to be that early! The dogs (namely Cruiser) have decided recently that at the very crack of dawn that it is time to wake up. Since Travis gets home in the early morning, I don't like the dogs to wake him up so I get up with them and go to the livingroom...where they promptly go back to sleep. So this morning was the same problem only about and hour earlier than I wanted. But I got up and decided this worked better for me since I still needed to run my mile anyway. So as I was digging in the dryer for my workout clothes, while scowling at the dogs as they fell asleep in the sun, Travis got up for a glass of water. I told him that I was going to go for a run. As I told him this, the dogs ran back into the bedroom and under the covers to go back to sleep. I kissed Travis goodbye, hooked myself up to my ipod and went for my run (which by the way was in BEAUTIFUL weather!). When I came home, I saw that my hubby was awake and watching t.v. on the couch which threw me for a loop since even on a good day he sleeps until 10. He had kindly left me a glass of gatorade on the counter which I accepted gladly. As I sat down to nurse the charlie horse in my right calf, my husband brought up that it would be a great time for food. I gave him a look since we both knew he doesn't cook and making cereal is as far as it goes for him. Since we haven't done our costco run in a couple weeks, we were lacking in that department. I told him I would make him pancakes and potatoes once I showered which he gladly agreed to. After I showered I put on my work clothes grateful that now I could have a ride to work instead of walking since Travis was up. I started the potatoes which involved me picking out the eyes in the potatoes and cutting them and frying them and seasoning them and simultaneously setting off the smoke alarm. Three times. This caused Baci to freak out and crawl into Travis' lap and cower and Cruiser to howl, and me to worry about waking the neighbors. So after opening a window turning on the vent and digging out the fan, had that problem solved. In the end, the pancakes and potatoes turned out delicious! Then I had to go to work. By this time I was already beginning to feel tired. I worked a seemingly busier than usual 4 hours, and then Travis and our friend Patrick came to get me. They took me directly to the shooting range to practice their skills. I was hungry and didn't want to shoot so I took myself out the the Mexican restaurant across the street. I came back to the gun store and shooting range, and shot a round off on one of the guns at Travis' request (actually getting fairly close to the center).
After the shooting range, we needed to go to Travis' mom's house so that I could drop off some candlesticks that might come in handy for Travis' sister's graduation party. The three of us came in to the house, found out the candlestick would work and sat around looking at Samantha's yearbook until we were kicked out. Although it was mainly because his mom was trying to teach and we were being noisy. So I understand. After we left, Patrick dropped us off at our apartment, where Travis promptly took a nap and I sat on the couch contemplating scrapbooking. I however didn't do any because I couldn't will my body to move. I watched the dogs chase eachother and then woke Travis up at 6 so we could go get dinner. Now here I am still rambling on and thinking that Travis has been in bed for a couple hours, and I am blogging. The dogs are asleep on the floor next to me and I keep complaining about being tired. So the easiest solution is to say goodnight, and to promise that future posts will be far more entertaining!
